The transportation committee of the German Parliament decided on the date of a bill, after which it is a special education testing for driving of heavy fire engines, giving a gross vehicle mass exceeding 3.5 tonnes.

In the press release of the German Parliament that "To maintain the readiness of the volunteer fire brigades, rescue services and disaster relief organization, and disaster management upright, is followed by a special travel permission for members of these services to drive of emergency vehicles to be created on the basis of a special education audit to a maximum mass of 4.75 tonnes and 7.5 tonnes. This provides an internal briefing and a check ride."
