The Fire Department Technical Center in Mittweida is, after a construction period of almost 2 years, now were officially handed over by District Administrator Volker Uhlig. The construction costs amounted to around 2.1 million euros, with 711,000 euros in funding the State of Saxony were incorporated.

The new building has already been decided by the old county Mittweida and given an initial funding of 500,000 euros. The trial operation was started in September 2009.

It includes at 1195m² usable space:

• Downstairs: premises for a nursing facility hose including hose repair, hose storage and delivery, for a respiratory protection workshop, including the compressor room, respirator storage, maintenance and delivery, as well as breathing space for a pumping test vehicle including a hall with three combined vehicle control and test stations.
• On the first floor of the supra-regional training of volunteer firefighters three training rooms, a teaching aid room, instructor offices, medical room, a cloakroom and a breathing practice facilities consisting of changing rooms, prep room, work room, control center, orientation and target area. In the field of outdoor facilities within the object created 6 new car parking and 2 Truck seats. For parking, the circle of friends and trainers training 30 parking spaces were rented before the object from the city.

From the environmental point of underwear and hose, the pump test are fed with rainwater. To stand for the laundry hose storage tanks with a volume of about 15,000 and for the pump test with about 5000 liters.
